Humanity™ – Make a Difference


Humanity is a really cool brand.   One I wish I had thought of.  I didn’t. But  Helena Cho and Tammy Hotsenpiller did.  They started it in 2008 to raise awareness for various causes around the world by designing a fashion driven line that conveys knowledge about humanitarian and environmental efforts .

I wear my fushia wrap bracelet almost everyday. It’s one of those things that  just makes me feel good.  That’s what the line does.  It inspires you to strive to be better.   A better person.  A better citizen of the world.  For every bracelet purchased a 25% net profit goes to support Children Uniting Nations.

Even though Humanity is a for-profit company, its designs are manufactured for non-profit organizations. They call their deeds “random acts of kindness”.   But there isn’t anything random about their acts.  Everything is done for a reason – a humanitarian reason.  They believe each and every individual stands unified with one single purpose…..dignity, respect and well-being for all.  Cho and Hotsenpiller’s hoped they would create a worldwide opportunity for all to participate and from the looks of things they did.

“It has been said when you plant a seed you reap a tree. It is the smallest things that bring about the largest change. By simply extending a helping hand, yielding your right of way, or intentionally meeting the needs of others, you can make a difference in our world.
